• Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account
• Profile Information: Age, gender, height, weight, activity level, and nutrition goals
• Nutrition Data: Food logs, meal entries, and custom foods you create
• Weight Logs: Weight measurements you manually enter

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Usage Data: App feature usage, navigation patterns, and interaction data
• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Crash Reports: Technical information about app crashes to help us fix bugs

2.3 Health Data (Apple Health Integration)

• Weight Data: Read weight measurements from Apple Health (with your permission)
• Activity Data: Read step count and active calories (with your permission)
• Write Permissions: We may write nutrition data back to Apple Health (with your permission)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

• To provide and maintain the App's functionality
• To calculate your personalized nutrition goals and recommendations
• To sync your data across devices when you're signed in
• To improve the App through analytics and usage patterns
• To fix bugs and improve performance through crash reporting
• To communicate important updates about the App

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Local Storage

Most of your data is stored locally on your device. This includes:

• Food logs and meal entries
• Custom foods you create
• App preferences and settings

4.2 Cloud Storage

When you create an account, certain data is stored securely in our cloud database (Supabase) to enable sync across devices:

• Your profile information
• Weight logs
• Account credentials (encrypted)

4.3 Security Measures

• All data transmitted to our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS
• Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text
• Database access is restricted and monitored
• We implement row-level security to ensure data isolation between users

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services We Use:

• Supabase: For secure cloud storage and authentication
• Firebase: For crash reporting and anonymous analytics
• OpenFoodFacts: For food database queries (product information only, no personal data)
• USDA FoodData Central: For nutrition data (no personal data shared)

We may disclose your information only if:

• Required by law or legal process
• Necessary to protect our rights or safety
• With your explicit consent

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access and Control

• Access: You can view all your data within the App
• Modify: You can edit or delete any of your entries at any time
• Export: You can request a copy of your data by contacting us
• Delete: You can delete your account and all associated data

6.2 Privacy Settings

You can control:

• Apple Health data access permissions
• Analytics and crash reporting (opt-in during onboarding)
• Which metrics are visible in your dashboard

6.3 Data Retention

• Active account data is retained as long as your account exists
• If you delete your account, your data is permanently removed within 30 days
• Crash reports and anonymous analytics are retained for up to 90 days

7. Children's Privacy

NutriBase is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. International Users

NutriBase is available globally. Your data may be transferred to and stored on servers located in different countries. By using the App, you consent to such transfers. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data regardless of location.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Posting the new Privacy Policy in the App
• Updating the "Last Updated" date
• Sending you a notification for significant changes
